A versatile Greek sauce, tzatziki can be used as a dip, sauce or salad dressing. This version is low in fat and calories and high in protein.

Tzatziki nutrition varies with most commercial varieties clocking in around 80-100 calories and 6-8 grams of fat per 1/4 cup serving; about 4 times as much as this low-fat tzatziki recipe.

The calories in tzatziki sauce are mostly derived from fat. Because this recipe uses non-fat Greek yogurt and omits oil, you can enjoy this version guilt free!

This fat-free, low-calorie tzatziki recipe is only 25 calories per serving and made with dried spices, so it can be made in a matter of minutes. Fast, flavorful, and versatile!

Ingredients
  

  • 1 small cucumber
  • 1 lemon
  • 2 tsp dried dill
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1 1/2 cups nonfat, plain Greek yogurt
  • salt & pepper to taste

Instructions
 

  • Using a handheld peeler, remove skins from cucumber. Cut into quarters lengthwise and grate or finely chop. Add to a medium mixing bowl.
  • Zest and juice one lemon. Add to cucumber along with remaining ingredients; mix well.
  • Serve immediately or refrigerate for up to 4 days.
